Pixelgrammetry
Pixelgrammetry™ is a wholly owned subsidiary of North West created in 2005 to develop efficient processing software for the ADS40 digital sensor. The software was successfully used for the 2006 NAIP season. Over 47,388 map tiles (562,552 sq mi) were delivered within the contract time limits. In 2006 Leica recognized the merits of the Pixelgrammetry™ process and entered into a co-production agreement where they will provide various modules and algorithms. The goal is to have an automated “black box” processing capability requiring minimal human intervention.
Valtus
Valtus Imagery Service is a division of North West. This entity was formerly called Pixxures Canada Inc. and purchased by North West in 2003. Valtus is a web data hosting/internet delivery service for geospatial data. North West’s proprietary 1m color orthophoto coverage of western Canada is hosted on Valtus. As USDA NAIP states are completed they are also hosted. Users can access the data base and download for a fee the area required.
Valtus also offers companies in need of geospatial data storage and internal distribution a storage and restricted access service. This is very popular due to the complexity of storing large amounts of data and efficiently making it available within a company.
